Company History
Eagle tours is a family owned and operated sailing tour and charter company started in Jan 2002 on St. Maarten by Petro and Sophie Jonker.

Sailing onboard there Schooner rigged yacht "Southern Comfort", from Cape Town in May 1999 the family arrived in St Maarten a month prior to a hurricane called "Lenny".

Petro joined the Company "Outisland Charters" prior operators of the "Golden Eagles" & "Explorer".

As Sophie is French and Petro is from a Dutch background, the transition to living on a French/Dutch island was an easy one.

During 2001 an agreement was made with the owners and founders of Out Island charters, John and Judy Reeve, to take over the operations of the vessels and a new company was formed Eagle Tours N.V.

Mainly operating with the cruise ship industry the company has expanded and started the "Friday farewell" tour so that residents and visitors could enjoy the five star service and quality time offered in the beautiful sailing waters of St Maarten/St Martin aboard the Golden Eagle sailing catamarans.

"I just want to say a huge thank you to all the crew from the Golden Eagle. Thanks to you our stop in St. Maarten was the most memorable part of our cruise."

"What a fantastic end to a really special vacation. The trip out to Tintamarre was so much fun, and you all took such good care of us. Our kids loved the snorkeling and we loved the rum punch!"

"We were very happy to have been on this tour! The ship’s captain and her crew went over the top to provide us with a four hour tour that we won’t forget. Even the rain that punctuated the tour couldn’t and didn’t bring down the energy level of the crew. The first trip was made for snorkeling, but we passed this up to enjoy a cigar and beer. On the second stop we anchored off a beach and were able to swim to shore- one of the mates and even captain were in the water with us! The swim ashore part was excellent. On the beach it was quite enjoyable too! On the way home we were served lunch and champagne! – Nice too.  The captain and her crew should be commended for providing us with an excellent time. The only downfall was that the tour didn’t last another four hours! A great St. Maarten memory! Golden Eagle III is the best! ".

"This excursion was great from the start. The way we were treated by the crew, the history of the island, the snorkeling, the speed boat went way beyond our expectations. The sightseeing was unbelievable. I just wanted to write a good word about this excursion. Thanks for a great vacation".

I had an excellent time on this excursion, the crew on the boat interacted with us and were dancing with us on deck and asking questions. We were able to sit on the nets of the catamaran for the whole trip which was really fun. They gave us very detailed instructions on the snorkel gear and were very at offering additional assistance with individuals. I felt very safe and in good hands. While snorkeling they had a man in a speed boat in the water with us to make sure we weren’t drifting too far or getting too close to the rocks. On the way home we had a blast. They played awesome music and the men took turns dancing with us ladies and having such a good time. When we arrived at the harbor they stopped the boat and said it was a tradition to dance the YMCA! The crew all did it with us, it was a riot! Would highly recommend this tour to anyone!

The Golden eagle sail, the explorer grand island tour, the Ultimate beach and kayak tour & the Ultimate snorkel and kayak tour are all four hours long. The reason why these tours are four hours long is to leave those of you who are here just for the day another half a day to let you see the rest of the island, go shopping or simply go to the beach before departing on your cruise ship.
